I’m not only a coach, I’m also many other things. I’m a son, a brother, a husband, a dad, a step-dad, a grandad, a gardener, a cook, a deep (over) thinker; I’m creative, passionate, and so much more – depending on the day.
Managing all that can be exciting, interesting and quite challenging in itself, so adding other things to such an extensive list, can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, so I hope you’ll believe me when I say, I understand the challenges you’ve faced and the ones you’re going to face, and I’m ready to be by your side to help you with every step.

Qualifications:
Before I move on, I want to assure you that I believe it’s important that you get support from someone who is qualified to provide it.
To me, personal and professional development is a cornerstone of effective practice, and because much of this area is not regulated, there are far too many people out there passing themselves off as professionals without the necessary, relevant training. I want to assure you that I only offer services that I am qualified and experienced to provide.

I’ve lived and worked in Seaham, a small town in north east England, all my life and I’ve struggled with my weight for most of that time. I’ve lost and regained so many times, I lost count. There was always something that got in the way, a reason (or an excuse) why I couldn’t continue or something more important that took over.
A few years ago I lost a lot of weight, for what I thought would definitely be the last time. For nine (long) months, I put in so much effort, I sacrificed so much, and I pushed through. It was hard, but I felt good and I was approaching my goal.
So why, just a few months later, was I on my way back to square 1?
I didn’t know, I didn’t understand, and that was the turning point because I realised that if I ever wanted to really change, I needed to find the answer to that question.
This turned out to be the start of my education, both professionally and personally. It was the first step on a long road full of questions, research, trial and error, and working with some wonderful people, who were brave enough to put their trust in me and I’ve been developing and refining the things I’ve learned, ever since.
I’ve worked with I don’t know how many people, each unique, each with different goals, barriers, strengths, weaknesses, priorities and dreams and I’ve tried to build a relationship of trust, openness and honesty with each and every one.
I thoroughly enjoy every step of this process, because in every one, I can see a small aspect of the life I lived, the frustration, the fear of change, the overwhelming pressure, the unrealistic expectations, the confusion, the misinformation and the lack of understanding from the people who are supposed to help.
Watching each of those things disappear one by one with my clients, is one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done, and now (maybe because I’m greedy), I want more. I want to help more people, I want to see more people change their lives, and that means spreading the message as wide as I can.
I was unhealthy most of my life. I wasted 30 years, a lot of money and most of my energy searching for a quick fix, and I want to stop you doing the same
- Person-centred – You are different to everyone else, that means your program is different to everyone else and that’s the only way it should be.
- Problems can be complex, but solutions are usually pretty simple – making sure you fully understand everything you need to do and how to do it, is the cornerstone of the work we do together.
- I will try my best to put myself out of business – I’m not here to create repeat customers, just to generate income. I’m here to give you the skills and confidence to manage your health independently.
- Realistic – everything we do is based on fact, the latest evidence based science and the experience of others who have gone before you – no false promises.
- Understanding – I don’t judge anyone. I understand the difficulties you’re trying to overcome and I will always create a safe space for you.
